Tiffany-Jane C (Auckland) mum of Cypha

When I'm feeding my son in the middle of the night I can see my bellycast up on the wall in the hallway, sort of glowing in the light, its such a unique reminder of the time I was pregnant. My mother bought the session for me as a gift, and Cypha arrived extremely early about 5 days later.

I never had time to have any professional photos taken so it is great to have the bellycast as a reminder. I like the fact that my cast includes my hands and arms, I can recognise it as my own body shape, probably more than I would if it was just my breasts and belly.

Kathryn G (Dunedin) mum of Finn

Just thought I would drop a wee line to say thanks again for the fun of the belly cast!

Would you believe we finished plastering the night I went into labour!!  Finn was born earlier than expected - we weren't really leaving the casting till the last possible minute!

The cast hangs proudly on the wall as a permanent reminder of a very special pregnancy that produced a very special boy!

Well thanks again and best wishes to you and other expectant mums who make a belly cast!

I love my bellycast because it includes both mine and my husbands hands, so its a family unit in one piece of art.

Merran D - mum of Maisie

I think it was a wonderful way to capture such a special time in our lives.  My daughter Maisie is truly delicious - she is my field of flowers.

My husband enjoyed getting messy creating my bellycast. You forget what its like having a big belly, this will remind us.

When I first opened my birthday gift from my sister and found it was a bellymask I had two instant thoughts: What a really cool idea followed closely by: This so isn't me!

The bellymask sat unopened in my wardrobe from October through until December by which point I was 38 weeks pregnant and thoroughly sick of it! One Saturday afternoon I decided to bite the bullet (so to speak) and enlisted the help of my partner in making the mold.

While the mould was still drying (just days later) - my baby arrived.

Once I had life back into some semblance of order I took a look at my finished mould and totally fell in love with it. I was so pleased I made the time to do it.

Over the next few days I enjoyed choosing a finish for it and making it into something I felt proud of.

It now hangs on the wall above Baxter's cot. Every time I look at it I feel so thankful that I stepped outside my comfort zone.
